Tacho Easy Entry: log your hours and make the manual entry from your phone

Keeps track of what you do while your card is not in the tachograph, and has those hours ready for the manual entry. For exactly that time your phone takes over the recording.

See how it works

Video 1: the manual entry with time blocks. Per block you state what you did and from when to when.
Video 2: logging the time outside the vehicle automatically, like a mobile tachograph. The card is ejected from the app, you choose what you are doing, the counter runs, and on insertion everything is ready for the entry.

What the app does

Who it is for

Drivers who want their hours outside the vehicle to add up without turning it into paperwork, and who find the manual entry on the unit too cumbersome.

How you use it

  1. PairConnect the app to the tachograph over bluetooth. You only do that once.
  2. Card outEject the card from the app; you do not need the buttons on the unit.
  3. Say what you are doingRight after ejecting you choose other work, availability or rest. The counter starts running.
  4. Switch when you switchDoing something else? Tap the new activity. The previous one is closed at that moment.
  5. Card back inOn insertion the app fetches the unaccounted window from the tachograph.
  6. Use the hours or do it by handChoose whether to use the logged hours or fill in the time blocks yourself.
  7. Fill the gapsIf there is a stretch with nothing logged, the app asks per gap what you were doing.
  8. Write itThe app puts the entry on the tachograph and thereby on your card.

Where to get it

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to remember what I did at what time?
No. You record it as it happens by tapping the activity; the times come from the clock.
What if I forget to start it?
Then a gap is left. The app notices and asks separately what you were doing in that stretch.
Does it work without coverage?
Yes. The logging happens on your phone itself and needs no internet. Only the country code from GPS needs a signal, and you can also pick it by hand.
What is the difference between the two videos?
In the first you fill in the time blocks by hand. In the second the app logs the time outside the vehicle itself, and everything is ready the moment you insert the card.
Does it work with every tachograph?
At the moment only with a VDO DTCO.
Why does the country code matter so much?
Without the country where the period begins and ends your entry is incomplete, and that carries a fine at a roadside check.
Can I still correct it?
Logged periods can be changed or deleted up to the moment you write them. After that it is on the card and can only be supplemented with a new entry.
