VYS Tacho: reading the tachograph over bluetooth

Reads the driver card and the tachograph memory by itself into a valid DDD file. On a VDO no manual action in the cab is needed any more: the phone or tablet is enough. The company card stays at the office or in our card hotel.

What the app does

Who it is for

Operators who want to meet the retention obligation without making drivers come to the office or remember anything in the cab, and drivers who have to read their own card.

How you use it

  1. Pair onceFind the tachograph in the app and pair over bluetooth. You only do this once.
  2. Company card at the office or in the card hotelThe card stays where it is, in a card reader at the office or with us in the card hotel. The tachograph reads it remotely.
  3. The rest happens on its ownThe app reads the driver card and the tachograph memory as soon as it can, and puts the DDD file in the portal.

Where to get it

This app is not available in a store; it is rolled out through your organisation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an FMS box or a dongle?
No. Nothing has to be fitted in the vehicle; an iPhone or Android device is enough. That also saves work when a driver moves to another truck.
Does it also work on ADR vehicles?
Yes. Nothing is fitted in the vehicle; the reading goes over bluetooth from the phone or tablet.
Does the driver have to do anything in the cab?
On a VDO, no. The phone or tablet in the cab is enough; the reading happens in the background.
Where does the company card have to be?
In a card reader at the office, or with us in the card hotel. It does not have to travel.
Which tachographs are supported?
The smart tachograph (Gen2 V2), including the VDO DTCO 4.1 and the Stoneridge SE5000 Smart 2.
Does the file stay valid?
Yes, it is a genuine DDD file with the tachograph's signature; nothing is changed about it.
